Welcome to Cambria, California.
The primary economic activity of Cambria is tourism. Cambria is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, and has dramatic rocky cliffs and beaches. There are many hotels and bed & breakfasts, especially on Moonstone Beach Drive. Cambria is located approximately six miles south of Hearst Castle.
Cambria began as a fishing and quicksilver mining town. As time went by dairy and lumber became the communities income producing products. When you visit this area you can see some of the old buildings including the Old Santa Rosa Church, the 100 year old Brambles, Santa Rosa School, and many other structures.

Cambria is located along the Pacific coast, exactly halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and 35 miles north of San Luis Obispo.
What began as a fishing and quicksilver mining community, Cambria is now quaint artists' colony. This picturesque village sits amid towering pines across from the crashing surf. Cambria is a romantic get-a-way for those looking for a slow, peaceful pace but with big city amenities.
Wonderful restaurants, antique and specialty shops and art galleries fill the town. There are numerous hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts in the area, as well as vacation rental homes. Many people come to retire in Cambria and 50 percent of its homes are second homes. The world famous Hearst Castle is just 6 miles north of Cambria. Other things to see and do in town are visiting one of the nearby wineries, elephant seal viewing, seeing the interesting Nit Wit Ridge, taking a guided kayak tour, renting a bicycle for the day, and visiting the Cambria Farmer's Market held every Friday of the year. For a leisurely change of pace, you'll find this lovely coastal village will be one of the most relaxing vacations of your life.
Cambria is likely to become a place you'll want to return to again and again.
